THE PROPERTY:

This was once a thriving apple orchard, and now just a hint of that with the layout and hidden fruits.  There are 15 immediate acres to explore, including gardens, walking paths, goats, chickens, ducks and  meadow. Please pay attention to the property boundaries to help keep a good relationship with our  neighbors.

Be Aware. This is a wild and natural environment and we embrace the uncertainty of the land. ★ Poison ivy is lurking around tree bases, bushes and in the woods. It is attracted to trees, and this was a former apple orchard. If you go off the main paths, please wear closed toe shoes. ★Ticks are common. Check your skin and hair frequently and before sleep. If you find one on you, pinch and twist and pull it out.

FIRES:

Everyone has their own private firepit. We have firewood for purchase ($10 / large bundle) and it is  SELF SERVE at the main wood pile. You can also purchase it at the corner gas stations in Germantown.  (corner of 9G & main street). We provide matches and recommend bringing newspaper and collecting  kindling for ultimate success. Please put the fire out before going to sleep.

PETS:

We welcome dogs (sorry no cats due to common allergy) for an additional $25 non-refundable pet  deposit, payable by cash, Venmo (Gatherwild-Ranch) or card on file. Please be mindful of cleanliness of  dogs on the linens and carpets. Any damage above normal laundering will be charged in addition.  Please be mindful of other dogs on the property. Pets are NOT permitted to stay in tents alone. They  must be on a leash around the main house, animals and garden area due to roaming chickens and  goats. IF POSSIBLE, please move poop to the side of main paths with a stick rather than a plastic bag.

WEATHER:

Nature is a wonderful wild card. The best thing you can do is prepare for it! We do not allow  cancellations based on weather, and you will likely experience a spectrum of weather during your stay.  We highly suggest a few different shoe and clothing options - waterproof, sun-seeking, trail walking - we  can help with the rest. We provide extra blankets for chilly evenings, and shady areas for hot summer  days. Embrace the elements by doing a little research in advance, and making the best of what comes.

ARE YOU DRIVING?

Yes: Great! Enjoy the drive. We do not allow driving directly to your site, all sites have a short walk from the parking.

No: If possible, we recommend renting a car up here.  There are car rental options once you arrive at the Hudson Amtrak. Enterprise will pick you up at the station for free.

If you do not drive, please note that we advise bringing some provisions and thinking through what specifically you need. Although there are so many amenities just 1/2 mile down the road, it is helpful to come prepared. We have bikes to borrow, but it's important to note that the terrain is hilly and only experienced bike riders should utilize them.
